AmeriCorps volunteers assist families who care for someone at home, provide companionship to care receivers so family caregivers can take a break, serve veterans but do not provide any medical or personal cares. 2017 KC Scholarships: High school seniors who are members of the Church of the Holy Family in Silver Lake and are planning on attending a post-secondary school in the fall of 2017 are eligible to apply. LIGHTHOUSE TALKS CD OF THE MONTH

CD for the month of January is: "Building Your Life on Rock" Standing Firm in the Storm by Ralph Martin. The talk focuses on standing firm in Christian beliefs and not to lose ourselves in the mainstream thinking of the culture

COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN:
The CCW will be holding a bake sale during the Knights of
Columbus Fish Fry on Friday, March 3, 2017. All CCW members are
asked to donate various baked goods and of course our #1 BIG

KOLACHE SALE for the year. A letter is being sent to your Chair
or Co-Chairs asking them to call all women in their group to donate.
Please bring your baked items to the auditorium on Thursday,
March 2 from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. or on Friday, March 3 before
5:00 p.m. Any monetary donations are to be made out to the CCW
and should be placed in an envelope marked CCW Bake Sale and
dropped off or mailed to the parish office, or placed in the weekend collection.

The NUDCCW Scholarship Program: Scholarship monies are
available for educational and spiritual growth to our Parish CCW
members who are involved in Parish or Catholic School Ministry.

Scholarship Grants can be used for Workshops, Seminars, Classes,
Conference or Convention Registration that aid individuals in Parish
Ministry. $200 is the maximum amount of an individual scholarship.
For the National CCW Convention the total amount of the
registration is eligible plus an additional $250 for travel/lodging expenses.

“Catholic Voice Counts” awareness meetings in the Diocese of New
Ulm: These meetings will be brief informational meetings after Mass
to hand out materials, answer questions, and encourage Catholics to participate in the Catholics at the Capitol event on March 9, 2017.
Coffee and donuts will be served. The meeting nearest our parishes is
on February 26 after the 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Anastasia in Hutchinson.
