RELIGIOUS FREEDOM WEEK: The Catholic Church in the United States will be observing Religious Freedom Week from June 22 - 29. This period began with the feast day of Saints Thomas More and John Fischer and ends with the feast day of Saints Peter and Paul. It also includes the Solemnity of Corpus Christi and the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Strength and Hope,” and it highlights how we find our hope in Jesus Christ. We urge everyone to observe this week in a special way by participating in our regular Tuesday Eucharistic Adoration at Holy Family or Holy Trinity. During this time, we encourage you to pray for our nation and for religious liberty here at home and around the world. The United States Council of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has a number of resource for Religious Liberty Week, including a “Pray, Reflect, Act” document for each day of the observance. This material will help you learn about religious liberty from a Catholic perspective, pray about specific issues and act on what you learn by serving the parish, community or calling on legislators to support pertinent legislation. You can find these resources at www.usccb.org/ReligiousFreedomWeek.
WE INVITE YOU to become a member of the Rosary Society and part of its ministry of prayer and service. Members attend two or three meetings each year, make a commitment to praying the Rosary and through their donations and dues provide altar breads for the celebration of the Eucharist and launder, repair and maintain altar linens and server albs. The founder of the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary is St. Dominic. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Rosary Society's ministry and the spiritual growth membership offers, please contact Karen Kaczmarek at 320-583-2249. In coming weeks we will explain more about St. Dominic's dedication to the praying of the Rosary and how the Rosary Society continues his work.
CEMETERY FEES TO CHANGE: On July 1, 2019, the fees for cemetery plots and spaces will increase. Right to burial in a plot will increase to $600.00. Non-parishioner rights to burial will be raised to $1,200. If interested in purchasing a right to burial please contact Bobbi Ludewig. These moves will allow us to continue to maintain and care for our cemeteries.
